Hajj, also known as the pilgrimage to Mecca, is a religious obligation for Muslims who are physically and financially able to undertake the journey. Umar (RA), one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), performed Hajj during his lifetime. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, along with the declaration of faith (Shahada), prayer (Salah), giving of alms (Zakat), and fasting during Ramadan (Sawm). It is a journey of spiritual significance that requires pilgrims to perform a set of rituals during specific days in the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah. Muslims from all around the world gather in Mecca during the Hajj season, which is marked by specific dates in the Islamic calendar. The rituals of Hajj include the Tawaf (circumambulation) of the Kaaba, walking between the hills of Safa and Marwa, and standing on the plain of Arafat. Umar (RA) performed Hajj several times during his lifetime, and his piety and devotion to Islam have made him a respected figure in Islamic history.
